Nha Trang University held the closing ceremony for the KOICA IBS project
On December 11th, 2024, the closing ceremony for the KOICA IBS project was held at Nha Trang University (NTU), marking the completion and transfer of components in this significant international cooperation project between Nha Trang University and the KOICA Office.
At the ceremony, representing the KOICA Office in Vietnam was Prof. Kim Hwa Soo – KOICA IBS Project Manager, along with the KOICA team. Representing the Nha Trang University were Dr. Khong Trung Thang – Secretary of the Committee Party and Chairman of the University Council; Prof. Dr. Trang Si Trung – Rector of NTU; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Hung – Vice-Rector of NTU; the Project Management Board (under the Faculty of Information Technology); and the leaders of the following departments: International Cooperation, Science and Technology, Academic Affairs, Information Technology, and Planning and Finance.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Kim Hwa Soo emphasized the role of the KOICA project in enhancing research and teaching capabilities, especially in equipping modern facilities to support training and research in the field of information technology at Nha Trang University.
Prof. Dr. Trang Si Trung, representing Nha Trang University, expressed sincere gratitude to KOICA for their effective support throughout the project implementation. The University Rector affirmed that the KOICA IBS project has not only contributed significantly to the development of the University but also laid a solid foundation for future international cooperation.

Over the two years of implementation, the project achieved many remarkable successes. A modern infrastructure for cybersecurity training was established at the Multipurpose Building of Nha Trang University. The training room includes 50 computer sets, 100 monitors, 3 high-performance servers, and other modern equipment. In terms of training, the project successfully organized 6 basic courses and 2 intermediate courses, attracting 413 participants. Notably, 16% of participants were female, and 45% came from low-income families. Particularly, after completing the courses, 27% of participants began working in the field of cybersecurity. The project also provided professional development for 9 lecturers and 5 teaching assistants at Nha Trang University, contributing to the high-quality teaching staff.

At the end of the ceremony, representatives from both sides visited the computer lab, which is equipped with modern equipment provided as part of the project. These devices will play a crucial role in supporting training and research activities at the Faculty of Information Technology, contributing to improved training quality in the future.
